During ex-famous Bill Cosby's most recent trial, his defendants attacked almost everyone who countered Bill Cosby. Diana Moskovitz covers the most recent outbreak of this trial. Cosby's attorney attacked alleged victim Andrea Constand and her mother Gianna who claimed to be drugged by Bill Cosby for his illicit sexual desires. His lawyer didn't even stop at accusing them of fake news, but even accused the police for not looking further into these charges placed against him. She called everyone who testified, how do I say, a hussy. Five other women also claimed to be targeted by Cosby and his lawyer shut them down quickly. These allegations were everywhere during the argument and even caused many different ideas. Throughout the argument many new questions raised and no one knew what to do. The only one on Cosby's time besides his wife and lawyers was Margo Jackson who says "He is no criminal."

Hannah Gold's, Virginia and Minnesota Elect Openly Transgender Women as State and City Legislators, tells of a great step forward for America. In recent years, the nation has had debates about gay marriage and transgenders. The fact that now two transgender women work for city and state legislation. Many opposed this descision, such as Robert Marshall, a homo-phobic Republican. He has made many movments and laws trying to stop transgender and gay rights. In one instance, Marshall tried write and anti-gay marriage amendment. However, his idea was rejected by a federal judge. Virginia elected Danica Roem as their Democratic represenative. Besides Danica Roem, there was another transgender woman welcomed into the senate. Her name is Andrea Jenkins who was elected into the city council of Minneapolis, Minnesota. Even better than her just being transgender, she was the first first out trans woman of color elected to public in America. Comapred to what our history was like, it has improved significantly. Women have rights, we no longer have segregation and poeple can be open about themselves. Society has been improving significantly.
Journalist ,Angela Helm, pointed out a topic that has been going on for a few weeks. The topic of the national anthem and players of any sport not standing. She starts the article with talking about how the NBA Commissioner, Adam Silver, made a memo to all players that it is a set rule to stand for the anthem. Many players do not seem to disagree with the fact, however, they are upset with how NFL players are not being punished. Famous players ,such as Stephen Curry and LeBrone James, made an outlash towards President Donald Trump saying that "those NFL players who did not stand during the playing of the national anthem should be 'fired'". This does bring up a good discussion to most Americans. Many NFL players do not stand during the anthem. On the other hand, it raises a big question: should there be punishment for those who do not stand? In my opinion I do not think they should lose their jobs. That would be too harsh. Yes, we can think of other punishments for them, but loosing their job seems to be too rash. The NBA has not said if their would be a penalty if the players would break this rule. However, many will be keeping a close eye on the progress of this.
Reporter, Prachi Gupta of Jezebel, talks about one of the most deadliest mass shootings to happen so far in America's history. Gupta talks about the mass shooting that took place in Las Vegas and how our congress is going about it. The Republican of Congress wants to change the gun laws in America. They want to make it easier to posses a gun. One way they plan on doing this is by creating the Sportsmen Heritage and Recreational Enhancment or SHARE Act. This act will weaken the restriction on buying silencer for your gun. This can lead to even more mass shootings and terroristic attacks to happen. The scilencers will cause more people to panic and can cause even more harm and danger to people trying to escape. People in today's society have different views on how restrictions for guns should be. Half of the country believes that there should be more restricitons on these laws. This way less people who aren't exactly stable can posses the guns. However, the other half believes that there should be less restrictions on these laws. They believe that guns are necessary in order to protect our rights as people. In a sense they are correct. However, I believe there should be more tests to see if poeple are reallyb allowed to have guns in their possesion. These tests will help stop many more mass shootings to happen in the future.
